Histoire :
Carlos Santiago Espada
Moises est né le 6 Janvier 1964. Il est également connu comme
Charles Ashenoff et mieux connu sous son nom de ring de Konnan. C’est
un lutteur professionnel et rappeur cubain. Konnan est bien connu au Mexique
en raison de ses apparitions à la télévision mexicaine,
en particulier pour le compte de la promotion Asistencia Asesoría y Administración.
Dans le passé il a été décrit comme le « Hulk
Hogan Mexicain » pour refléter sa popularité en général.
Après avoir
servi dans la marine américaine, Ashenoff a commencé sa carrière
de lutteur professionnel au Mexique, luttant à la fois à l’Empresa
Mexicana de la Lucha Libre et à l’Asistencia Asesoría y
Administración. Dans cette dernière, il a également agi
comme « Booker » et devient le premier champion AAA Americas Heavyweight.
De 1992 à
1993, il a travaillé dans la World Wrestling Federation dans le personnage
de Max Moon et en 1996, il a commencé à travailler à temps
plein pour la World Championship Wrestling (WCW). Dans cette dernière,
il a aidé à y faire venir d'autres catcheurs mexicains dans la
promotion. Il y a aussi été un membre de la « Faction »
des Filthy Animals.
Après la fermeture
de la WCW en 2002, il rejoint la Total Nonstop Action Wrestling, où il
fera partie de deux grandes alliances : Les 3Live Kru et The Latin American
Xchange. Il a quitté la société en 2007 après avoir
déposé une plainte contre elle mais leur litige a finalement été
résolu.
